Location: CBD, Cape Town 
Salary: R20k - R25k per month negotiable

About the Role:
Opportunity available for an Email Marketer to support the Chief Marketing Officer in the strategic planning, implementation and maintenance of all email marketing and CRM content

Requirements:
Grade 12 and relevant tertiary education
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in an email marketing role
Experience within an e-commerce environment preferable
An understanding of digital marketing and a holistic approach in consumer engagement
Excellent written communication and copywriting skills
Experience with enterprise-level email automation tools (MailChimp, Sendy, Active Campaign, etc.)
Knowledge of current email best practices and responsive email development
HTML and CSS
Strong analytical and numerical ability, with a passion for using data to inform decision making
Deadline driven
Previous experience with Google Analytics
Ability to work under pressure and tight time constraints, think strategically and commercially
Attention to detail and brand consistency

Duties:
Strategy
Together with the broader marketing team, you will be responsible for proactively researching and evaluating existing email solutions to assist with the development of the Email Marketing Strategy.
Customer acquisition and retention
Assist with new partnerships and campaigns to drive brand awareness and generate new leads
Assist in the monitoring of email database size and interactions - list size, open rates, clicks, conversions etc.
Responsible for selecting and assistance in segmenting email audiences to achieve optimal results
Soft marketing efforts to improve brand positioning, brand awareness and retain the various customer segments
Management and animation of the customer life cycle through automation
Planning and coordination of email marketing:
Manage the email marketing calendar in collaboration with broader marketing and sales team
Accurate and timeous briefing, design, coding and deployment of emails
Project management and cross-department collaboration
Quality control
Design and coding:
Responsible for conceptualising, coding and execution of email campaigns
Strong understanding of HTML & CSS (particularly for coding emails)
Proven knowledge of building responsive emails with deep understanding of media queries
Ability to write engaging copy to engage and promote brand recognition
Knowledge of design principles particularly within e-commerce
Perform campaign-specific testing to validate functional and rendering performance of email campaigns
