SEO Specialist
Location: Green Point, Cape Town (Hybrid)
Salary: R336k – R384k per annum
About the Role:
Opportunity available for an experienced SEO/SEM expert with proven SEO experience to manage all search engine optimization and marketing activities. You will be responsible for managing all SEO activities such as content strategy, link building, keyword strategy, on/offsite profile and to increase rankings on all major search networks.
Requirements:
3+ years’ experience within SEO
Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
In-depth experience with website analytics tools - Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends
Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO and SEM
Solid experience with on-page and off-page optimization with the usual SEO tools stack (Ahrefs, SEMRush, ScreamingFrog, Sitebulb, SearchConsole, SurferSEO, Frase…etc.)
Experience in on-site link strategies and technical SEO.
Experience with content strategy and setting a long-term plan.
Experience with performance tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Google Tag Manager.
Can work remotely if need be, and have reliable internet connection
Fluent in English - can confidently do light SEO edits of articles and communicate with stakeholders within and outside the company and progress within the role.
Responsibilities:
SEO Strategy - Continuously collect, test, analyse data and identify trends or insights to maximise SEO strategy, including off-site profile, copy, and landing pages.
Budget Optimisation - Work with the Digital Marketing Manager in managing campaign expenses, forecasting, reconciliation, and optimisation of the SEO budget.
Task Management - Conduct competitor analysis to improve advertising links and perform ongoing keyword optimisation.
Content Production - Work with Content Marketer to create briefs to optimize existing documentation and create internal links for campaign pages from supporting content e.g. blogs, services pages, etc.
Website Management - Work with the development team to implement the best SEO practices including newly developed code, website architecture content, linking, and other factors. Fixing website issues identified in audits such as broken links, orphaned pages, indexability issues, schema implementation, implementing 301 redirects,
Reporting - Monitoring traffic performance in Google Analytics and Google Search Console
