Business Analyst
Location: Woodstock, Cape Town
Salary: Up to R660k per annum
About the Role:
Reporting to the Product Owner, you would be assisting with new feature work, business flows, building process, impact analysis, etc. You would have one direct report but would be assisting both Product Owners in the IT team. The Business Analyst will support the Product Owner with the value-driven decision-making and prioritisation process. A primary focus for the Business Analyst will be to analyse data and processes for gaps and impacts, making recommendations while balancing what is feasible and financially reasonable.
Requirements:
B.Com Degree / Information Technology Degree.
4+ Years’ experience in business analysis or a related field.
Good knowledge and application of Use Cases, Process Maps, Data Flows and Diagrams.
Proven digital transformation experience.
Experience in working in an Agile team.
Understanding and experience in agile methodology.
Strong inter-personal and stakeholder management skills.
Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
Excellent documentation skills.
Proven project planning experience.
Advanced technical skills.
Experience in leading a team.
Responsibilities:
Conduct business and industry research to guide the critical evaluation of new and existing software.
Evaluate business processes, including needs analysis and identifying areas for improvement.
Recognise business needs by understanding stakeholder’s vision of the product.
Help the product owner establish user stories from the requirement models (epics) created during business analysis.
Communicate the bigger product vision with the Agile team to display where features and requirements fits within the organisational strategy.
Elicit the business requirements either directly, or from a documented set of business requirements.
Validate the requirements with the business and development team to ensure ongoing alignment of expectations.
Ensure the solution architecture is aligned with the business and functional requirements.
Assist the business to articulate the value they wish to realise with a solution. Identifying risks, issues and decisions needed in support of project deliverables and scope.
Develop and implement solutions that will meet business needs based on evaluations.
Lead ongoing reviews of business processes & develop optimisation strategies.
Stay abreast of the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernise systems.
Perform requirements analysis.
Document and communicate results of efforts and implementations.
Communicate insights and plans to cross-functional teams and management.
Gather critical information from meetings and stakeholders to produce meaningful reports.
Prioritise initiatives based on business needs and requirements.
Manage projects, develop project plans, and monitor performance.
Perform user acceptance testing.
